It's her birthday...
I remember it like it was yesterday... and not yesteryear...
I go to her house around 12:30 to pick her up for a pampering... I take her out and get her a manicure... french press to be exact... if I had a bit more cash that day, I would have given her a pedicure as well... and spent the whole day walking the mall as her nails dried and the manicure formula set it...
Then took her to her favorite restaurant with her father... made sure she didn't spend a single penny on her food since it was her birthday... it was a joy... though I had to be insistent since she felt like she had to pay... so I basically forced her to put her purse away and keep her change... it was her birthday... you shouldn't have to pay for food on your birthday...
then we went back to her place and walked the neighborhood and laid underneath the summer sky watching the clouds roll before it became a thunderstorm...
The day ended with us watching Ace of Cakes before I left her house and wished her a happy 21st...
One year later... without her... and I'm working my freakin dead end job that I requested off on this day... funny how 365 days can change a single event and in hindsight... what a difference that one year is like... and it still sucks that I can't celebrate her birthday on this day...
