I probably could say more, but I don't think it would get us anywhere. I will leave you with your thoughts.

We are on the same side are we not? We just understand things differently.

    God bless you.

Further to my reply to your comment, the permissive will of God is when you do something like changing jobs, moving to a different place, changing churches etc without consulting God about it. In some of these circumstances He will allow you do it so that He can teach you something through it. At other times He may not allow it to happen at all because it may not be the best thing for you to do and could be harmful for you.

@doral - which is permissed by God is it not?

  • doral
If you have sought God about for instance, who you should marry, or to lead you to the job that He wants for you, then, if you have heard Him correctly, you would be in the perfect will of God for that part of your life. As for what you wear, eat or buy etc. that is simply your choice.

@doral - God's perfect will is such like he wills that we come to faith in Christ... or that we are to go preach the Gospel and teach and make disciples... his permissive will is like that of marrying a person, a job you take, the jeans you wear, the call you take... that you are under his permission to do the normative things...

@leadworshipper82 - Well how do you understand the perfect will and the permissive will of God, I would be interested to know your feeling?

    Thanks for the reply though.

  • leadworshipper82

@doral - ummm... i guess you and I are diverted on what we mean by permissive and perfect will then...

  • doral
Yes, I know what you mean by feeling unused. I guess it depends on what you consider being 'used of God means'. I know that I had my own ideas of how I would like to be used of God. At this point it seems that God has different ideas of how He wants to use me. As far as being in God's will is concerned, I guess that you have to decide whether you want to be in His perfect will for you or whether you are happy to take the lesser option, which is His permissive will. You will find the greatest satisfaction and usefulness in His perfect will for you. I know that my desire is to come into God's full purpose for my life, even if that means it is different to what I would prefer it to be. I think that we have to take the eternal view of God's purpose for us if we want to be fully satisfied and complete both in this life and in the next.

The decision is yours. I don't know if this is what you wanted to hear or not, it probably wasn't. It is not easy to look beyond what we want in

    Hi Eugene,

Here is something to reflect on.

    As I Reflect.

As I reflect on the work of God,

As I look back over time passed by.

I see His gentle, guiding hand -

In so many instances now gone by.

I see the times I tried to change His mind......

By creating what I thought I needed.

    Each effort came to naught,

He remained steadfast and unmoving in His direction for me.

After much frustration and many tears,

I yielded once more to His precious will,

Finding once more peace and rest,

Laying down my fears and stress

Waiting for Him to complete the test.

In hindsight I look and the futility I see

In striving against His will for me.

So here I am waiting still........

yea... i'll only go to her now...

    when my time comes anyways....

i look at her pics and just get the greatest sense that i'll have that kind of story to share with this one girl i'm deeply in love with and heavily praying God entrusts her to me... and i envision pictures like that with her in particular....

just a matter of God really....
